The '67 Z-28 Network
The 2003 All GM Nationals at Carlisle!
Thanks to school and the new additions to our family, it's been
4 years since our last visit to Carlisle . However, it was certainly
worth the wait. The show was a big improvement over the 1999 Camaro
Nationals and there were a number of very rare and beautiful Camaros on
hand. This is definitely a must see for any hard core Camaro Enthusiast
living anywhere within driving distance (it took us about 8 hours one way).
Very seldom does one get the opportunity to see a '67 Z-28 at a show
as most appear to be stored away in collections gathering dust. So
you can imagine my surprise to find 2 '67 Z's sitting side by side on the
show field! Both were beautiful cars - one RS and one standard coupe.
Here are a couple of pics of each...
Mike and Linda's 1967 Granada Gold RS Z-28
This gorgeous Z has been owned by the same couple since 1968! They
bought the car with just 4,200 miles on it and immediately began drag racing
it. Mike raced the car from '68 through '70 with a best ET of 12.98
in stock trim with 8 inch slicks. Not bad at all for a "little 302"!
When the kids came along, the car went into storage. In 1989, Mike
freshened the car with new paint and a little detailing and began driving
it to cruise nights and car shows. With just 39,000 miles on the
odometer now, the car runs and looks like it was new.

Don's 1967 Deepwater Blue Z-28
Don just recently completed a frame-off restoration on this car and the
results are absolutely stunning! The body is arrow straight and the
Deepwater Blue paint looks a mile deep. The car is very nicely detailed
and very correct appearing. In fact, Don won the "Bowtie" class at
Carlisle with a score in the high 900's! Congrats Don!
